With pre-season testing and preparations winding up, the opening round of the 2016 Australian Superbike Championship (ASBK) and the first outing for Brayden Elliott in the nation’s premier two wheeled category is less than 24 hours away. An electric atmosphere expected for the season opener at Phillip Island and Brayden is looking forward to nothing more than getting on track and putting the first races behind him.

There has been a short turnaround since the end of the 2015 season and start of Brayden’s Superbike debut year and thus, it has been two months filled with bike setup, preparation and development. Elliott credits a lot of the hard work to the team around him and is feeling as confident as possible before this weekend’s first race.

“Round one of the Australian Superbike Championship will be the start of another big season which I have been working towards for months. I feel as prepared as I could possibly be as we enter the opening event at Phillip Island.”

“The amount of effort put in by myself and so many people behind the scenes has been enormous. I’m extremely confident in the preparation and performance of my Knobby Underwear Suzuki GSX-R 1000’s, also gaining confidence from the work I have put into my mental and physical preparations,” Elliott said.

The first round of the ASBK for Brayden could be seen as him making his maiden appearance on the big stage as the series acts as a support to the opening round of the World Superbike Championship. With some of the best riders and teams from around the globe watching on, Elliott see’s it as a great chance to get himself established on the Superbike scene.

“Having round one run in conjunction with the World Superbikes is something that I am really looking forward too. Being amongst world class riders and teams, an amazing crowd and atmosphere at one of the fastest tracks on the globe will certainly be an amazing event to have my debut Superbike race,” Elliott added.

While Brayden enters the season as the reigning Australian Supersport Champion, he remains realistic of his goals and abilities up against the best riders in the country. Although the challenges associated with stepping up have increased, Elliott remains focussed to deliver a total commitment to his riding in order to develop his skills in the best way possible over the course of the year.

“As far as expectations go, the team have been great in allowing me to set my own manageable goals without any unnecessary pressure. Within myself, I know where I want to be and as always, can guarantee my 100% best efforts on the bike. I look forward to finally being on track with so many experienced riders to learn from them which I’m sure will help me adapt to the Superbike,” Elliott concluded.

Brayden’s first Superbike event will be this weekend’s opening round of the 2016 Australian Superbike Championship which forms part of the World Superbike Championship event at the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit, Victoria from February 25-28.
